Ted Baker opens a standalone menswear store called Ted Baker Tailored at 155 Fenchurch Street, in London’s financial district, on 2 October 2026. It is the brand’s first dedicated shop in more than two years, after the UK business went into administration and closed all 46 of its UK stores in 2024.
The relaunch is led by Authentic Brands Group, the New York-based owner that acquired Ted Baker in October 2022. The brand’s UK and European operations had been run by the Dutch retail group AARC, appointed by Authentic, before that partnership ended in February 2024.
The UK business entity, No Ordinary Designer Label (NODL), then entered administration and began closing its 46 UK stores, the last of which shut in August 2024.
What opens at 155 Fenchurch Street
The store trades as Ted Baker Tailored and focuses on menswear, with a collection of tailored suiting and everyday essentials. The brand describes an immersive retail environment in which product, design and storytelling come together.
The shop opens on 2 October 2026. It follows a womenswear shop-in-shop at Selfridges in Manchester that opened in May 2026, so Fenchurch Street is the first full standalone unit since the 2024 closures.
The partners behind the relaunch
Henry Stupp, president of lifestyle for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India at Authentic, describes the opening as an important milestone for the brand in its home market and says London is the natural place to begin.
Tim Murphy, chief executive of Suit Direct, a long-standing Ted Baker licence partner that designs and distributes the brand’s formalwear, calls the store a new chapter in that partnership. Ted Baker is therefore a brand held by an owner and extended through licence partners, and it has not been described as a franchise, an arrangement distinct from the model explained in what a franchise is.
How the brand is structured
Authentic Brands Group owns the Ted Baker brand and works with licence partners such as Suit Direct, which makes and distributes its formalwear. The Fenchurch Street store has not been described as franchised, and this article treats Ted Baker as a brand, not a franchise network.
What the administration involved
When the UK business collapsed, it was the operating entity, NODL, that entered administration, rather than the Ted Baker brand itself, which stayed with Authentic. In an administration an insolvency practitioner takes control of the company.
The date of the appointment, the administrators’ names and the outcome for creditors are not given here, and the official notice was not checked. The 46 stores had finished closing by August 2024.
What comes next
The brand says the opening marks the next phase of its UK retail strategy and builds on its existing presence, which now includes the Selfridges shop-in-shop and the Fenchurch Street store. No number of further stores, sites or timetable has been given.
Authentic has not said whether other formats beyond menswear tailoring will follow, and no turnover or footfall target has been given for the new store. A standalone unit gives the brand control of its own shopfront and customer experience, which a shop-in-shop inside a department store does not, and which brands recruiting UK operators hand to a franchisee under a specification instead.
