Sixes, the cricket-themed competitive socialising brand backed by England captain Ben Stokes, has set up a new franchising company seven months after entering administration.
Companies House records show Sixes Entertainment Franchise Limited was incorporated on 5 June 2026, and a live franchise recruitment page is now inviting operators to open new sites, joining the leisure franchises recruiting in the UK.
Sixes was founded in 2020 by Andy Waugh and Calum Mackinnon, the founders of the Mac and Wild restaurant group, combining cricket nets and simulators with a bar and food offer. The brand entered administration on 17 December 2025, when administrators Tony Wright and Alastair Massey of FRP Advisory were appointed across 16 UK venues, with the Southampton site closing immediately and three jobs lost.
Companies House now shows two new entities registered at an address in Twickenham: Sixes Entertainment Limited, incorporated 20 March 2026, and Sixes Entertainment Franchise Limited, incorporated 5 June 2026.
Administration followed a squeezed on-trade market
FRP Advisory’s administrators said some Sixes venues had struggled in an increasingly competitive market, with consumer spending down, and pointed to wider pressure on UK hospitality venues from rising business rates, the National Living Wage and employer National Insurance contributions.
They reported early interest from parties wanting to acquire the brand and its strongest-performing sites. Sixes’ own venue finder currently lists eight sites, at London Bridge, Wembley, Bristol, Sussex, Stratford, Bournemouth, High Wycombe and Watford, down from the 16 trading before the administration, with the Bournemouth, High Wycombe and Watford venues run in partnership with karting operator TeamSport.
A dedicated franchising company, months after the collapse
Sixes Entertainment Franchise Limited’s two directors, Timothy Bowden and Luke Brady, were both appointed on the company’s incorporation date. Brady already has a public profile with the Sixes team, describing his role on LinkedIn as being with “Sixes Party Cricket”.
Companies House records the company’s registered activity as management consultancy, and its first accounts are not due until December 2027, so no trading figures for the new entity are yet publicly available, which removes the filings how to choose your franchisor recommends checking before an application.

Sixes has more than one franchising entity on the UK register. Sixes Cricket Franchise Ltd, registered in Aberdeen, was incorporated in January 2023, before the administration. Sixes Entertainment Franchise Limited, registered in Twickenham, is the new company set up in June 2026 and is the one behind the current live franchise recruitment page. Which legal entity a franchisee actually contracts with is established by the franchise agreement, not by the brand name on the page.
What the franchise recruitment page offers
The franchise page describes Sixes as seeking partners to expand the concept internationally, promising support from a team covering training, operations, marketing, culinary development and technology.
It does not publish a franchise fee, a total investment figure, or UK-specific site criteria, and its application form instead asks prospective franchisees about their location preferences, the number of venues they want, and their capital position, leaving the benchmarks in what it costs to open a franchise in the UK as the only comparison available before an enquiry.
