PG Fast Food, the quick-service brand launched by rapper Professor Green with Hero Brands, plans to reach UK-wide coverage through franchising and is targeting 100 sites over the next five years. The brand opened its first unit in Glasgow in March 2026 and its first site in England, in London’s Soho, in September.

PG Fast Food is a partnership between Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen Manderson, and Hero Brands, the group behind German Doner Kebab and Sides, the hot chicken brand of YouTube group The Sidemen. The concept opened on Byres Road, in Glasgow’s west end, on 5 March 2026. Its menu is built around sealed brioche buns called UFOs, served on a bun, rice or salad, alongside potato puffs, frozen “ice grapes” and flavoured “Dirty Soda” drinks.

On 14 October 2026, the brand’s managing director told Propel that PG Fast Food is “seeking UK-wide coverage through franchising” and is targeting 100 sites within five years. The plan follows two openings in seven months: Glasgow in March, then Soho in September, the brand’s first site in England. The franchise terms, including the initial franchise fee, the management service fee and the format sizes on offer, have not been published.

The brand is run by Rebecca Tye, managing director of PG Fast Food, who was previously head of UK franchise at Marks & Spencer. At the Glasgow launch in March, she described the city as “just the beginning”, with plans to roll the brand out in cities across the country. At the time, a second Glasgow outlet was planned on George Street, near the University of Strathclyde, along with a food truck at the Fort Shopping Centre.

Professor Green’s move into food predates the brand. During the 2020 lockdowns, he worked with chef Gizzi Erskine on the Instagram series “Giz & Green’s Monday Night Fakeaway”, and the pair later produced pizza kits and a mac and cheese dish for Burger & Lobster’s London restaurants. When PG Fast Food was announced in December 2025, he said the brand was designed to “disrupt the fast food market”. At the Glasgow opening, he summed up the pitch more simply: “fast food doesn’t have to be bad food”.

PG Fast Food now moves into franchisee recruitment. Its owner is not new to the model: German Doner Kebab, the best-known brand in the Hero Brands portfolio, has grown in the UK through franchise partners, as have most of the fast food brands recruiting UK operators.

According to the BFA’s 2024 National Franchise Survey, the UK franchise sector was worth £19.1 billion, across 1,009 franchise systems and 50,421 units.

The next signals will be the publication of franchise terms, the first signed franchise partner and the regions the brand opens to first, the detail already published by established brands recruiting partners in the UK. With its first unit in Scotland and its first English site in central London, PG Fast Food has so far tested two very different markets. Any franchise agreement signed in Scotland would sit under Scots law, while a site in England or Wales would fall under the law of England and Wales.
