Nabzy’s, the chicken and pizza takeaway brand founded in Liverpool, registered a dedicated franchise company at Companies House on 9 October 2026. The brand, which says it now has 21 stores across the North West of England, is also seeking late-night hours for a new branch on Liverpool’s Smithdown Road, which a council sub-committee will decide on 27 October.
Nabzy’s was founded by Nabeel Tabarik, who opened the first shop on Leece Street in Liverpool city centre in 2016. The brand sells fried chicken, pizzas, burgers, wraps and loaded fries, all described as halal-certified, and trades through its own ordering site as well as Uber Eats and Just Eat, the delivery-led model now standard across the fast food brands recruiting UK operators. Its store locator lists 19 sites, all in the North West: Liverpool, the Wirral, Sefton, Manchester, Preston, Leyland, Chorley, Bamber Bridge, Blackburn, Blackpool, Wigan and Bury.
A new company for the franchise network
Nabzys Franchise Limited was incorporated on 9 October 2026, with Tabarik as its sole director. It shares its registered office in Southport with Nabzys Management Limited, the company named on the brand’s website, and Nabzys Foods Limited. Its declared activities are takeaway food shops and management consultancy. The brand’s franchise page invites applicants to request information and states an ambition of “a local Nabzy’s in every town in the North West”. The initial franchise fee, the management service fee and the investment required have not been published.
From 18 to 21 stores in a year
Nabzy’s already describes its estate in franchise terms. Opening its Dovecot branch in October 2025, Tabarik told the Liverpool Echo: “We are opening our eighth store in Liverpool, taking the tally of franchises to 18.” He added that the brand had operated “on four sites for many years” before demand allowed it to expand. In August 2026, announcing the Smithdown Road site on Facebook, the brand gave a new total: “This is our ninth store in Liverpool and all together we have 21 stores.” The breakdown between company-run and franchised stores has not been published.
Smithdown Road hours go to a licensing hearing
The next Liverpool opening is facing a hurdle. Nabzy’s took over a former hot food takeaway on Smithdown Road in August and has applied to trade from 11am to 3am every day. Liverpool City Council’s planning team has objected: the 2011 planning permission for the unit limits opening to 11pm, and the council’s accepted closing time for a district centre such as Smithdown Road is 11.30pm. Planning officers said the objection would be withdrawn if the hours were cut to 11.30pm. The application goes to the licensing and gambling sub-committee at Liverpool Town Hall on 27 October.
What to watch
The Liverpool Echo describes Nabzy’s as a late-night staple in Liverpool city centre, and the Smithdown Road application seeks the same 3am finish. The Smithdown Road decision will show how far that model can be carried into district centres, where councils apply earlier closing times. On the franchise side, the new company has yet to file any accounts: its first are due for the period to 31 October 2027. Until then, the franchise terms, the number of franchised stores and any move outside the North West will depend on what Nabzy’s chooses to publish, unlike the brands taking on partners in the UK that set their terms out up front.
