KFC opens its new restaurant at Waterloo Park in Waterlooville, Hampshire, on Monday 26 October 2026, run by franchisee K&Z Holdings. It is the second of three brands to trade on the Hargreaves development, after Costa on 22 October, with Aldi due to follow on 26 November.
The restaurant sits on Elettra Avenue, one of three separate buildings on a site that was brownfield before developer Hargreaves began work in January 2026. The scheme shares 169 car parking spaces across its three units. The News (Portsmouth) reported on 14 October that KFC would open on 26 October, and repeated the date on 24 October.
What is known about the KFC restaurant
K&Z Holdings, named by The News as the KFC franchisee, said it was proud to be creating new jobs in Waterlooville and looked forward to becoming part of the community. A KFC spokesperson said the partnership with Hargreaves had been key to getting the new Elettra Avenue restaurant ready to open, and The News describes the project as the first time the two have worked together. The reports reviewed do not give the number of jobs, the floor area, the seating, whether the unit has a drive-thru, or any opening-day offer, and they do not name the nearest existing KFC restaurant or its distance.
How the Waterloo Park development is lining up
Costa Coffee opened its drive-thru on Thursday 22 October and said the unit would create up to 16 roles, a roadside format now standard across the coffee franchises in the UK as covered by L’Express Franchise on 23 October. KFC follows on Monday 26 October, and Aldi opens on Thursday 26 November. Tim Wilmer, investment director at Hargreaves, said the opening of Phase 2 would bring a range of national operators to the site, with investment, employment and extra food-and-drink options for residents. He added that attention now turns to the remaining development opportunities at Waterloo Park.
The franchise operator behind the opening
K&Z Holdings joins the franchise partners that run KFC restaurants in the UK, the multi-site operators most fast food franchises in the UK now recruit. Adil Group, another KFC franchisee, opened a drive-thru at Monks Cross in York on 17 October, according to QSR Media. Companies House lists a company called K & Z Holdings Limited, number 11205119, incorporated on 14 February 2018 with a registered office in London. The News gives no company number, so that match rests on the name alone. Companies House does not record franchise agreements or outlet counts.
What comes next at Waterloo Park
Aldi’s store is the last of the three to open, a month after KFC, and the car park serving all three buildings is already complete. Tree planting and landscaping continue over the coming months, according to The News. Matthias Daly, real estate director at Aldi, said the new store would give local shoppers access to its products and create jobs and investment in the area. Hargreaves has said it will share further progress on the remaining plots in due course. Staffing numbers and opening hours for the KFC restaurant had not been published in the reports reviewed.
