Jam Coding Launches First Computing Lab in Cheadle

Jam Coding has announced the launch of its first Computing Lab, opening in January 2026 at the Intuition Tuition Centre in Cheadle. This new facility marks an exciting new chapter for the company, which has spent the past decade delivering digital skills workshops and computing lessons in primary schools across the UK.

The Computing Lab is designed for children aged 4 to 13 and provides a structured, curriculum-aligned programme that focuses on coding, problem-solving, and creative computing. Unlike school-based sessions, these labs are open to all children, giving families the flexibility to enrol directly. Children will benefit from measurable lessons aligned to the national curriculum, while parents can track progress and see their child’s confidence in computing grow week by week.

Roger Grogan, Chief Executive Officer of Jam Coding, said: “The launch of our first Computing Lab is a huge step forward. They’re a response to parents with a growing appetite for coding and computing lessons outside of the school setting, offering a more flexible opportunity that any child can join. Each digital skill a child learns can, on average, increase their potential future earnings by 1 to 2 per cent, so it’s vital that children are developing these skills early.”

The first Computing Lab will be led by Su Watty, Area Director for Jam Coding Stockport, who will oversee operations at the Cheadle site. Su added: “It’s an absolute honour to be leading the launch of Jam Coding’s very first Computing Lab in Cheadle. Every child deserves the chance to unlock their potential through digital skills, and this Lab will be a place where they can grow in confidence, creativity, and ambition. It’s a privilege to help guide these young minds, and I’m excited to see where their journeys take them.”

The Cheadle Computing Lab will be the first of several planned locations across the UK, with more launches expected throughout 2026, as Jam Coding continues to expand opportunities for children to develop essential digital skills and prepare for a digitally-driven future.
