The Pets, Homes and Gardens Company,
Pet care, perfected

Pets, Homes & Gardens (PHG) has been part of the UK pet care industry since 2009, built on one belief: pets deserve exceptional care from people who love what they do. PHG delivers premium dog walking, home visits, house sitting and boarding.

Founded by Peter and Julie and now run by Ritchie and Amber, the brand is based on a proven model, strong values and hands-on experience. PHG stands out for its trust, reliability and its “never let a client down” approach.

As a premium, close-knit franchise, PHG offers exclusive territories, personal support and steady growth. They look for dedicated, trustworthy people with a passion for animals, and give them the chance to build a business they can be proud of. PHG continues to grow because its model works: local owner-operators deliver exceptional care, build long-term relationships, and earn the trust of their community.

Main Questions

The UK pet care industry is one of the strongest and most resilient sectors to enter. With 60% of UK households now owning pets, demand for reliable and professional care has never been higher. The industry is worth over £9.5 billion and continues to grow every year, even during economic downturns, because pets are always treated as part of the family.

Cultural shifts are also driving growth. More adults are choosing to have fewer children or focusing on pets as companions, which has created a huge appetite for premium dog walking, home visits and personalised care.

Pet care is also naturally resistant to automation. While many industries face disruption from AI, professional pet care relies on trust, judgement and real human presence, things technology simply can’t replace. This makes pet care one of the UK’s most future-proof and human-led industries.

PHG are looking for people who want to build a hands-on business centred around working with pets every day. We don’t require professional experience, we’re simply looking for individuals with a genuine passion for animals. They must be extremely trustworthy, reliable, comfortable working outdoors in all weathers, and naturally calm, organised, and methodical. Strong communication skills are also important, as PHG businesses are built on trust and positive relationships with local clients.

The ideal candidate wants to become their own boss, stay active, and create something meaningful in their local area. They need the determination to get their business established, willing to put in the time and effort. We generally avoid applicants seeking a passive role, as this is a practical, hands-on business suited to those with a love for animals and a commitment to delivering exceptional service and professional pet care.

  • Support from people who have walked the same path 🤝
  • A trusted, family-run brand giving you the tools to succeed 🥳

PHG Webinar Showcases Opportunity to Launch a Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Business

Pets, Homes and Gardens Webinar Showcases Opportunity to Launch a Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Business

Pets, Homes and Gardens (PHG), the family-run dog walking and pet sitting franchise, recently hosted a live webinar titled Turn Your Love of Pets Into Your Own Local Business, aimed at people interested in launching their own professional pet care business.

The session was led by PHG franchisor Ritchie Clarke and also featured Danny, the fantastic franchisee behind PHG Haywards Heath. Together, they provided a clear and practical insight into what it takes to build a successful dog walking and pet sitting business under the Pets, Homes and Gardens franchise.

With just under 50 people registered, the webinar gave attendees an excellent overview of how the PHG franchise works in practice. Ritchie introduced the opportunity, spoke about the values behind the brand, and explained why demand for reliable dog walking and pet sitting services continues to grow across the UK.

Danny then shared his experience of launching PHG Haywards Heath after joining the franchise towards the end of 2025. He talked through the early stages of building his dog walking and pet sitting business, the onboarding process, and how he has been developing his local client base.

The webinar concluded with a live Q&A where attendees asked a number of thoughtful questions about starting a dog walking and pet sitting business and what it is like to run a pet care business as part of the PHG network.

For those who missed the live event, the full webinar recording is now available to watch online 👇
