A home-based cleaning management franchise with a money-back guarantee, where the owner need not live in their own territory.

A Maid2Clean franchise is a home-based domestic cleaning management business, matching vetted cleaners with households wanting regular cleans.

Mike Hanrahan founded the company in 1993. It now has 126 franchisees across the UK and Ireland trading 166 franchised operations, and provides work for approximately 18,500 cleaners. The company points out that against roughly 900 franchise systems in the UK offering work for around 621,000 people, its own share is 22 times that of the average franchise.

The model produces residual income rather than one-off fees. Franchisees recruit and vet cleaners, interview them at home, check references and onboard them, then match them with local clients who book regular cleans.

Why Choose the Franchise Maid2Clean?

Location is unusually flexible. Franchisees do not have to live within the territory they operate. Some run their business locally, others run it remotely, and some operate from overseas entirely, which is rare in a service franchise built on local relationships.

The money-back guarantee is the other distinguishing term, and it is conditional rather than open-ended. A franchisee unhappy after 24 months can reclaim the initial investment provided they can demonstrate five things: completing the four-stage training programme, distributing 20,000 leaflets a month across the period, advertising to recruit at least two new cleaners a week, properly interviewing and vetting cleaners at their homes, and building a database of at least 200 clients and 200 cleaners.

Training runs through a comprehensive operations manual, full process training at head office, operations training at the company’s centre in Nuneaton, a post-launch visit at the franchisee’s premises and consolidation follow-up training, with unlimited additional training if needed.

The business has won a Gold award for Marketing Excellence at the Virtual Franchising Awards, a Global Excellence award, and Cleaning Service of the Year at the Corporate Livewire Prestige Awards.
