The UK's largest privately owned home care franchisor, where owners lead the business rather than deliver the care.
A Caremark franchise is a home care business run from a local office, and the company states that care experience is not required to own one.
Caremark has operated since 2005 and describes itself as the UK’s largest privately owned home care franchisor, with more than 150 offices across the UK and Ireland. Its network delivers over 138,000 hours of care each week through approximately 5,600 care assistants, and head office is in Worthing, West Sussex.
The recognition is recent and substantial: BFA Gold Franchisor of the Year 2025 in the Established category, Bronze for European Franchisor of the Year at the 2026 European Franchise Awards, ranked in the top five of the Elite Franchise Top 100 for 2026, and Five Star Franchisee Satisfaction in the 2026 WorkBuzz survey.
Why Choose the Franchise Caremark?
The owner’s role is commercial rather than clinical. Caremark is explicit that franchise owners come from all kinds of professional backgrounds and that the job is to build and lead the business rather than deliver care personally. What it looks for is commercial thinking, the ability to bring out the best in people, and the capacity to build trusted local relationships.
Two revenue streams are open to every office. Owners can serve privately funded clients and care commissioned by local authorities, which gives access to the full home care market rather than one half of it.
Support runs through named specialists across onboarding, operations, quality and compliance, marketing, finance and technology, at a stated support centre to franchise owner ratio of 1 to 2.5. Training begins with an eight-day induction and continues through practical training and a nine-month leadership programme.
The ongoing support fee is 4.5% plus VAT of monthly turnover, which Caremark describes as the lowest management service fee in the sector, alongside a 1% national marketing contribution.
