A hotel franchise for property owners, from the group behind greet and Mercure

Accor operates and franchises hotels under a portfolio of brands that includes greet, the Handwritten Collection and Mövenpick. Its most recent UK arrivals are the Handwritten Collection, which opened at The Queen at Chester, and greet, while Mövenpick is preparing its UK debut at Mövenpick Golf Resort & Spa Hampshire Old Thorns.

Accor’s model leans on franchising. At the end of June 2025, 3,460 of its 5,740 hotels worldwide were franchised, and most of the rest were managed for their owners, according to its published hotel portfolio. Its economy brand, Greet, launched in Beaune, France, in 2019, was entirely franchised.

A franchise signed by hotel owners, not individuals

In the UK, Accor signs with the companies that own the hotels, and the owner may appoint a separate company to run them. The first UK greet hotel, greet London Harlow, opened in October 2026 in a converted hotel owned by the property group Proark and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA, under a franchise agreement with Accor. Accor neither owns nor runs that hotel.

Accor publishes no UK franchise offer, fee, investment range, or entry requirement, and does not say how its UK hotels are divided between franchised and managed.
