Franchise C-Suite Roundup: A Wave of Leadership Changes Hits US Networks in Q3 2026

A wave of senior leadership appointments swept through the US franchise sector during the third quarter of 2026, spanning fitness, home care, casual dining, and restaurant development. A monthly executive hiring roundup published by Franchising.com on August 25 catalogued dozens of C-suite moves, including new chief executives at Cracker Barrel, BrightStar Care, Hand & Stone Massage & Facial Spa, and Gold’s Gym.

Leadership transitions at multi-unit franchise brands carry strategic weight beyond the individuals involved. A new chief executive or president typically signals a shift in development priorities, unit economics targets, or brand positioning. The volume of C-suite moves documented in the August 25 roundup reflects the pace of organizational realignment across franchise networks as brands prepare for Q4 2026 and map out 2027 development pipelines.

The appointments span several categories. Cracker Barrel named David Deno as CEO, installing an executive with a track record in casual dining restructuring at a brand navigating an ongoing turnaround. BrightStar Care, one of the largest home care franchise networks in the United States, brought in Josh Wall as CEO. Wall joins the brand with more than two decades of franchise experience, including a previous role as COO of youth enrichment platform Unleashed Brands. At Hand & Stone Massage & Facial Spa, Carrie Walsh was named CEO of a chain operating hundreds of US locations. And at Gold’s Gym, Brad Reynolds was appointed sole CEO, consolidating executive authority at the fitness brand as it continues its post-bankruptcy recovery and franchise rebuild.

Alongside the established chains, several growing franchise networks announced their own executive moves. HTeaO, the iced-tea QSR concept expanding rapidly across the South and Southwest, named Brian Wise as CEO. Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning appointed Kris Antolak as President. Franchise FastLane, a franchise sales and development firm, named Heather Harris as its new chief executive, a hire that may shape which emerging brands receive active development support in the near term. Also on the list: Checkers & Rally’s named Peter Busse as Chief Development Officer, and Chicken Salad Chick brought in Drew Travis as Chief Financial Officer.

The density of C-suite transitions documented in a single month reflects dynamics that have been building across the franchise sector throughout 2026. Brands that completed ownership changes through private equity acquisitions or post-bankruptcy restructuring in 2024 and 2025 have typically moved to install new executive teams once operational stabilization allows. At the same time, franchise networks targeting aggressive unit growth through 2027 have been adding development-focused leaders to align organizational capacity with signed pipeline commitments. The pattern points to a sector that is actively repositioning across multiple categories rather than concentrating change in a single segment.
