The breakfast-and-lunch QSR sector drew a major area development commitment on August 24, 2026, when fast food franchise brand The Twisted Egg Shack announced an exclusive agreement to open more than 60 restaurants across Texas with operators Joey Eguia and Collins Orr of 1836 Brands. The deal ranks among the largest single-state development agreements in the brand’s short history.

The Twisted Egg Shack is a quick-service franchise concept built around made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, tacos, specialty lunch items, handcrafted coffee beverages, and a drive-thru operating model designed for speed and efficiency. The franchise brand has been assembling its national footprint through experienced multi-unit partners, with existing commitments in the Houston-area markets of Manvel and Pearland, Texas, and in Denver, Colorado. The August 24 announcement accelerates that trajectory significantly.

Under the agreement, 1836 Brands will oversee the development of more than 60 Twisted Egg Shack locations across Texas. The first sites are already in planning, targeting the League City and Cypress trade areas within the Houston metropolitan market.

“We have been looking for something exciting and different in the breakfast and lunch category,” notes Joey Eguia, co-founder of 1836 Brands. “Twisted Egg Shack checks off all of the boxes. With virtually no competition, there is huge runway for growth. With our connections, we are looking forward to making this the hands-down category leader.” The brand describes the agreement as one of the largest area development commitments in its history.

Eguia’s career spans more than 30 years in the restaurant sector. His background includes serving as COO of Fajita Pete’s, executive leadership roles at Wings N More and BreWingz, and founding Bayou City Wings. His partner Collins Orr contributes expertise in restaurant development, marketing, and commercial real estate. The pair’s combined credentials align with a pattern common in franchise development: emerging QSR brands recruiting veteran multi-unit operators to anchor large-scale area deals.

“They understand every aspect of growing restaurant brands,” says Chris Milton, Co-Founder of The Twisted Egg Shack. “Their experience gives us an incredible advantage as we continue expanding throughout Texas.” “It’s the one-two punch we’ve been looking for to fast-track growth with the brand,” adds Clay Carson, Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer of The Twisted Egg Shack.

The Texas announcement coincides with several other recently signed agreements. In Central Florida, Thomas Bell is preparing to open a first Twisted Egg Shack location in Lakeland, with a target opening date of December 1, 2026. Separately, Danny Juarez, following the sale of his insurance business, has committed to developing two locations in the Austin metropolitan area.

With franchisees now signed across Texas, Florida, and Colorado, the brand is executing a coordinated multi-region expansion through its franchise development program. “Our goal has never been to simply grow,” adds Clay Carson, Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer. “We’re building the right team with the right franchisees and development partners.”
