Franchise brand Domino’s Pizza reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $1.19 billion, a 4.3% increase from the same period a year earlier, in results released July 20. The top-line figure beat analyst estimates, and diluted earnings per share rose to $4.07 from $3.81 a year ago, though the result came in below the $4.17 Wall Street consensus. U.S. same-store sales rose 0.1%, the softest quarterly comparable the chain has posted in over a year.

Net income for the quarter reached $135.8 million, up 3.6% year over year. Supply-chain revenue, which reflects the company’s food and equipment distribution activity with franchisees, climbed 6.5% to $731.7 million, supported by a 2.2% uptick in food-basket pricing. The earnings call, initially scheduled for Monday July 20, was delayed by technical issues with the company’s third-party webcast provider before being rescheduled to 11 a.m. ET the same day.

Domino’s added a net 209 locations worldwide in the second quarter, bringing its total global store count to 22,531. Of those additions, 26 were domestic and 183 were outside the United States. The brand’s international pipeline continues to drive the bulk of physical expansion, with net new international units accounting for roughly 87% of the quarter’s growth. U.S. same-store sales of +0.1% represented the chain’s softest quarterly comparable result in more than a year. International same-store sales, excluding foreign currency effects, declined 0.1%.

Domino’s occupies the position of the world’s largest pizza brand by system-wide sales, with a network spanning more than 90 countries. Speaking on the Q2 results, CEO Russell Weiner emphasized order volume as the headline metric, noting that the chain gained traffic while much of the restaurant industry declined.

The Q2 results illustrate a pattern visible across several large franchise restaurant systems this year: top-line revenue and unit count advancing while comparable-store traffic faces pressure. Domino’s supply-chain segment, which distributes ingredients and equipment to its franchisees, produced the strongest growth of the quarter at +6.5%, partly reflecting the 2.2% uptick in food-basket pricing. Operating income rose to $232 million from $225.1 million in Q2 2025, a year-over-year gain of 3.1%.

Domino’s operates primarily through a franchise model. The vast majority of its 22,531 locations are run by independent franchisees who pay royalties and purchase supplies through the company’s supply chain. The brand also separately announced in July 2025 the appointment of two new independent board directors, Michael C. Creedon, Jr. and Anneliese Olson, alongside the election of Corie Barry as Lead Independent Director. Those governance changes came ahead of the Q2 results. The company has not issued updated full-year 2026 financial guidance beyond what was previously communicated in its Q1 earnings materials.
