Yum! Brands, the global restaurant group behind KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Habit Burger & Grill, has appointed Kathleen (Leeny) K. Oberg, former Chief Financial Officer of Marriott International, to its Board of Directors effective April 1, 2026.

Oberg brings extensive experience in global finance and large-scale expansion
from her leadership role at Marriott, where she helped guide international development and corporate strategy across one of the world’s largest hospitality networks.

While board appointments do not impact day-to-day operations, they often reflect broader strategic priorities. In this case, Yum! appears to be focusing on steady global growth and stronger financial oversight across its franchise system.

Yum! runs one of the largest franchise networks in the world, with brands like KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut operating in markets across the globe, and Habit Burger & Grill. Its portfolio places it alongside industry giants like McDonald’s, making it one of the key players shaping the international quick-service restaurant market. Oberg’s background in scaling a global hospitality business fits with Yum!’s long-term strategy of growing through franchising and keeping operations consistent across countries.
