Global pool service franchise Poolwerx is expanding to Alpharetta, Marietta, and Sandy Springs, Georgia. The location will be owned and operated by entrepreneur and chemical engineer John Lange, who brings industry expertise to the brand.
Founded in Australia in 1992, Poolwerx has developed a franchise model centered on pool, hot tub, and spa maintenance for residential and commercial properties, including HOAs, hotels, and community pools.
Poolwerx USA launched in 2015, when the brand opened in Arizona. It has since grown into roughly 60 franchise outlets and celebrated its 100th active territory in late 2025. Poolwerx supports its franchise partners with hands-on instruction at its headquarters in Dallas, and the tools to help owners confidently launch and grow their businesses.
Lange’s Path to Poolwerx
Lange has been an entrepreneur for most of his professional life.
He bought his first company at just 20 years old, and several of those remain in operation. With an MBA from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, he’s worked in industrial water treatment, steel fabrication, and the entertainment industry.
After relocating to the United States, he identified the Atlanta suburbs as an attractive market for a franchise business, and of course, one with a lot of pools.
“The pool industry is a steady, untapped market that continues to gain traction,” Lange said. “More and more people are realizing that time is precious and are shifting pool maintenance responsibilities to professionals.”
He added that Poolwerx helps homeowners and businesses enjoy their pools hassle-free.
“Pools are where families slow down, reconnect and make memories,” Lange said. “Being part of that is incredibly rewarding.”
