Hilton is expanding its global footprint through a new agreement with YOTEL, the hotel brand that appeals to guests with highly efficient and cost-friendly rooms in some of the most iconic cities in the world.

The partnership brings YOTEL’s design-driven, tech-forward hotels into Hilton’s global network, while still allowing the brand to operate independently. YOTEL is also the first to join Select by Hilton, a new program designed to connect established brands to Hilton without changing what makes them unique.

“The addition of YOTEL to Hilton’s network is the latest example of our commitment to capital efficient growth …” said Christian Charnaux, executive vice president and chief development officer at Hilton. “This agreement further strengthens our network effect by connecting a beloved independent brand like YOTEL into the powerful Hilton Honors network and commercial distribution system.”

YOTEL operates 23 hotels across 10 countries, with plans to triple its portfolio in the next few years. YOTEL provides guests with a chic yet affordable alternative next door to high-end hotels in downtown cities, including New York, Miami, San Francisco, Tokyo, and Amsterdam.

The brand is known for smaller room layouts combined with tech-enabled features, such as its signature SmartBed system, which transforms from a flatbed to a sofa with the touch of a button, automated luggage storage, and color-changing mood lighting.

Guests staying at participating YOTEL properties will also enjoy all of the Hilton Honors loyalty program benefits, including digital check-in through the Hilton Honors app, free nights, and spa discounts. Hilton expects to open bookings through its website and apps later this year.

The structure offers a hybrid franchise approach. It combines independent brand identity with the scale and reach of one of the world’s most recognizable hotel companies.

“Hilton brings unmatched global distribution and loyalty scale to our brand and business,” said Phil Andreopoulos. “YOTEL’s relationship with Hilton allows us to expand our reach while staying true to who we are.
